It isn’t just what we do or how we do it. It’s who we are.
Our coaches’ role is to inspire, train, prepare, and motivate every player, individually and collectively, in every interaction. The job isn’t to win games - it’s to teach players how to learn. How to develop. How to perform, and how to compete. How to succeed. And how to deal with failure. It’s to instill in every player that every experience is a stepping stone in their development.
Hustle isn’t just our way of running on- and off-the-field. It isn’t a buzzword. It’s the energy that we put into everything that we do. It’s often said that the way you do anything is the way you do everything. We bring everything we have to all that we do. Always.
Hard work isn’t a punishment. It’s a welcomed part of the journey. A journey that leads to success. And our coaches are here to guide players along that journey, and to empower young athletes to reach higher heights than even they believed they could.
Teamwork isn’t just a mantra. It’s our way of life. Our approach to the most individual of the team sports is to ensure that everyone realizes that their actions affect everyone around them - for better or worse - and how to lift themselves - and everyone around them - up.
Our curiosity and passion know no limits. While we’re proud of where we are, we’re more proud of knowing that this is only the beginning - for our players and for our organization.
New York Empire Baseball coaches are trained instructors and skilled teachers, not merely ex-ballplayers.
Our lessons and instruction are age- and skill-appropriate, and our environment is developmental, engaging, fun, inclusive, and inspiring.
Our players are taught to play. Without fear of failure. They’re taught confidence through preparation, not words, so that they have no doubt about themselves.
Players learn that they can’t control outcomes - instead, they understand that over time, great preparation and process will bring great outcomes and success.

While science is at the heart of everything that we teach, our ability to teach that science - understandably - and to all ages and skill levels - is one of our greatest strengths. What is received is far more important that what is sent, and we pride ourselves not on sounding smart, but instead on ensuring that every player understands and develops both skill and the ability to use that skill in a competitive environment.
New York Empire Baseball Coaches and Instructors are some of the most highly educated, trained, and certified in all of baseball - and we train the entire staff year-round to ensure that our models, methods, and communication are consistent throughout the organization. Players won’t hear different methods & messages from different coaches, and we are always evolving and updating our program to ensure that what we teach is as well-informed as it can be. While we’re proud of what we know, we’re even more proud to always be looking for ways to improve.
Our staff isn’t made of the most accomplished ex-players - but instead, the most accomplished and well-trained coaches and instructors in the world.
Our Director of Research and Training was the world’s first Driveline Certified Coach. He’s also the pitching consultant to NYU Langone’s Sports Performance Center, having previously been the Area Director for the National Pitching Association. He’s on the Blast Motion Advisory Board, is one of the leaders of the ABCA Youth Baseball Summit, and sits on the Youth and Travel Committees at the ABCA. He was named to the Mayor’s Commission for Sports, Wellness, and Recreation, and is a frequent guest on Sirius XM’s NYU Doctor Radio.
Our coaching staff was the first in the world to be fully certified by Blast Motion, and our certifications, tools, and technologies are from the world leaders in sports instruction, education, and safety, including:

Coaching
Understanding every individual player is paramount for New York Empire Baseball Coaches as it forms the foundation not only for what we teach, but how we teach it. Our coaches seek to inspire every player in every interaction - whether it’s in one-on-one training, in a group lesson, or in a team environment.
Our individualized instruction isn’t based on anecdotes and rhetoric, but instead on the science of body and ball movement – and our ability to teach this to players of all ages and skill levels is where we excel. Our instruction is focused on minimizing the likelihood of injury while maximizing the results of every unique individual player.
All that we learn in our research and program development is translated into models and methods uniquely designed for every age and skill level - and learning style.
Our coaches are educated and trained and respectful leaders and role models for children. Not gig-workers and part-timers. Our organization is unique in all of youth sports - with nearly our entire coaching staff comprised of full time members of our team - deeply engrained in our Organization as their passion and their career.
New York Empire Baseball Coaches recognize that their primary objective isn’t to win plastic trophies. It’s to have a positive impact on the character, work ethic, and development of every player we meet - and every coach in our organization is familiar with nearly every player in the organization, regardless of the team for which a player plays.
